Insulation of Electric cable

The choice of insulation on the cable depends on its environmental performance such as, ambient temperature.
Flexibility , water, oil and other chemicals and compatibility with other materials.
The function of insulation on the conductor is to protect the cable from leakage current and form electric shock. We use P.V.C, V.I.R vamished cambric or any of the several other types of insulation on the cables. The current carrying capacity of a cable also depends upon the types of insulation.
